Free...from now on!

Most of you are aware that we started offering everyone back in October a free gift by waiving membership fees to the site until January 10, 2012. But have you heard that we are now offering FREE membership from now on....we decided to extend our initial promotion indefinitely! If you are wondering the logic, we want to fill our website up with as many talented artists as possible and showcase a vast selection of handmade creations for sale. We are proud to be a Canadian based website, but we welcome artisans from all over. If you know of a fellow artisan or crafter that has been thinking about selling their handmade creations online but don't know where to begin, let them know about our offer. We would like to have them join.

Have you had a chance to read our featured artisan contest winner for December? Meet Ron Stuart of Creative Woodturnings http://www.mycityartisans.ca/featured.php. Being featured is a great way to get yourself and your products recognized not only to your fellow artisans but through other avenues that My City Artisans networks in. That is the beauty of online, its reach is global. Potential buyers can make more of a connection with vendors when they know something about what and how they create their products. Also, what a sense of pride to be able to let family and friends know that you and your work is being featured! Thank you to all who submitted an entry, these will be kept on hold and may be used in future featured artisan articles. We'll keep you posted. Past events...and things to come:

We are sure that everyone has been busy as elves getting your products ready for the holiday buying season or for all those popular craft sales you may've participated in. Having been to some craft shows this summer and fall and participating at the Kingsway Christmas Craft Show, we certainly appreciate all the hard work it takes, not only with the creative process of your work, but also the setting up and dismantling of displays before and after the shows. Thank you to event sponsors like Beans and Babes Cafe and The Station Gallery who invited My City Artisans to participate in their events. Thank you to all our vendors for coming out and being a part of these shows. It is always a pleasure to see how everyone networks and shares their tips and ideas among each other. Truly a nice community we are happy to foster. Now, for a short sigh of relief....before it's time to start all over again with the Spring Craft shows! As always, feel free to post on our Facebook page any shows or events you may be at so others may come out to see you in action! Also, if you are aware of any events that might be of interest to us and others, feel free to post those too.

Still stumped about the little gifts to share.... for example teachers, co-workers and stocking stuffers? What better way to get people to your shop and see what you have to offer. Or, if there are items from another vendor that you think would make the perfect gift, help support a fellow member. So, consider adding the Gift Certificate feature to your site. Receiving our newsletter and email blasts:
Much of our communication to our vendors is through our quarterly newsletter and email blasts. Make sure to add our email to your safe list to be able to receive these as they are filled with event information, tips, contests and any changes or updates to the site. Remember to also check your Junk folder of your Inbox so you don't miss out.
